Student Epidemic Action Leaders (SEAL) Team

The Department of Epidemiology’s Student Epidemic Action Leaders (SEAL) Team provides students with experience in applied epidemiology through methods training and field assignments with state and local public health agencies.

SEAL Team members develop knowledge and skills in communicable disease and applied epidemiology through in-person training, independent assignments, and hands-on public health response activities.

Training prepares students to support public health partners in outbreak investigations, preparedness efforts, and other response activities. Projects and assignments are driven by real public health needs affecting communities across Washington State.
